The New Winds on Learning Together project

The aim of the project the New Winds on Learning Together is to share civic skills and traditions. This is done through mutual learning where participants gain new skills and at the same time share their own with others. The project’s learning sessions bring together people of different ages to pass on traditions, know-how from previous generations and skills from the digital age.

  • The aim of the New Winds on Learning Together project is to transfer civic skills and cultural heritage through mutual sharing. Civic competences are useful skills needed in daily life to strengthen a social and sustainable way of life. Cultural heritage is the tangible and intangible values, customs and skills that are passed on from one generation to the next. The transmission of civic skills and cultural heritage does not happen by itself, but requires action. The project New Winds on Learning Together will create and test a model for the transmission of civic skills and cultural heritage as a tool for learning together, through the mutual sharing of knowledge. The learning sessions created in the project will strengthen cultural well-being and a sense of togetherness through intergenerational encounters and cooperation between actors.

  • The project is temporary and will run from 1.11.2024 to 30.6.2025. During the project, learning sessions in different environments will be designed and implemented. The content of the sessions will be designed together with the residents of Kokkola and the project’s network of actors. The project’s news and events will be announced on the project’s website and Instagram account.

  • Winter is turning towards spring! Currently, we are meeting new people and actors in Kokkola and planning upcoming learning sessions together.
