The impressive shadow installations by visual artist Anni Laukka are displayed on the first floor of the Roos House. The works in the exhibition In the Shadows portray the cruelty of Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine and draw attention to the distress and suffering of Ukrainian children in the midst of war. Laukka has been touched by the children’s experiences and as a mother herself, she has identified with the fate of the families. Laukka has used toys collected from bombed homes in Malyn, Morozivka, Mykolaiv and Borodyanka in her pieces. The Ukrainian charity Malyn Volonter has helpd Laukka collect the toys and Ukrainan yhdistys Pietarsaaressa to transport them to Finland.

Вражаючі тіньові інсталяції художниці Анні Лаукка заповнюють перший поверх будинку Роозі Роботи на виставці «В тіні» розповідають про жорстокість російсько-загарбницької війни в Україні та висвітлюють тяжке становище та страждання українських дітей у розпал війни. Дитячі долі зворушили Лаукка і, як мати, вона ототожнила себе з долями їхніх родин. У своїх роботах Лаукка використовує іграшки, зібрані з розбомблених будинків у Малині, Морозівці, Миколаєві та Бородянці. Зібрати іграшки допомогла українська благодійна організація “Малинський волонтер”, а перевезти їх до Фінляндії – Товариство українців у Піетарсаарі.
