Temporary exhibitions

Several new exhibitions are displayed in our Museum every year.  You can visit our temporary exhibitions at the Roos House, at the Exhibition Hall and in the corridor gallery of the Kokkola City Hall. In our exhibitions art and cultural history bring light to local topics and explore modern phenomenons.

K.H.Renlund Museum’s exhibition year 2025 begins with FOCUS: Identity. This vibrant and diverse exhibition explores the many ways identity can be expressed in art. Created through the museum’s first-ever open call for artists, the exhibition highlights 18 contemporary artists from the region.

The artists featured in the exhibition are Moa Cederberg, Mia Damberg, Jari Eklund, Eeva Huotari, Mari Isopahkala, Irma Jylhä, Maija Klemetti, Aki Koskinen, Mattias Löfqvist, Eliisa Määttälä, Hanna Saarikoski, Alexandra Marina Furubacka, Katja Skinnari, Anna Ulff, Jaakko Valo, Annuli Viherjuuri, Joni Virtanen ja Owe Åsvik.

Fortune Favors the Brave

The exhibition Fortune Favors the Brave offers glimpses of and scenes from the colorful history of Kokkola, where the bold and resourceful residents of Kokkola play the leading roles. Narrators are newcomers and old families of Kokkola. The exhibition is built around themes that give a voice to the materials gathered from the Museum’s collections and documents: pioneers, rescuers, defenders, builders, talents and entrepreneurs. The exhibition visitors can experience views of everyday life. The exhibition is in Finnish and Swedish.
