Kokkola offers live music events and concerts to suit all tastes. The Kokkola Winter Accordion festival fills the city with versatile musical experiences every year in February. The Ullava Visual Arts and Music Week is held in June, and the Lohtaja Church Music Festival usually takes place in late July and early August.
The Kokkola Winter Dance is a contemporary dance event of national importance, arranged every year. Another annual festival, organised in September, is the film festival Kokkolan Kinojuhlat.
