In Kokkola you can rely on well-functioning, high-quality and comprehensive public health care services. Everyone living permanently in the region is entitled to public health care services. In Kokkola public health care services are provided by Wellbeing services county of Central Ostrobothnia, Soite.

Health care stations, emergency services and central hospital

Soite’s health care centres and stations offer services to residents of the area in matters related to primary health care. We offer services by doctors and nurses for prevention, diagnosing and treatment of illnesses and for follow-ups. Many matters associated with your health may be conveniently taken care of online or by phone.

Treatment at the central hospital’s outpatient clinics and wards requires referral from a doctor. Soite provides services every day 24 hours a day. If you need emergency care, please call the Medical Helpline 116 117. On weekdays between 8 am and 4 pm, you can contact the health care station of the area where you live. In case of emergency, always call 112.

Kokkola is conveniently located along the main railway line. You can reach Kokkola in just a few hours (travel time from Oulu is 2h, Seinäjoki 1 h, Tampere 2h and Helsinki 4 h, depending on train schedules and transfer connections). The railway and bus station are located side by side in the city center.
