The Mayor is responsible for the strategic management of the City Group. The Mayor manages, supervises and develops the city’s administration and economy under the City Board. The Mayor supervises the preparatory work on matters considered by the City Board and acts as the presenting officer for the City Board. The Mayor of Kokkola is Stina Mattila.
The City Group consists of the city organisation, the independent public utility Kokkolan Vesi, and 42 local authority subsidiaries, 17 associated companies and 7 joint municipal authorities.
The city organisation of Kokkola consists of corporate administration and corporate services, service sectors and the public utility Kokkolan Vesi.
The corporate administration and services are responsible for the City Executive Office, economy and it-services, human resources, business services and city development.
The service sectors are the technical services, educational and cultural services, the regional rescue department and the environmental health services.
